Topic is Active - No Messages general Opinions Wanted: Upgrading System
I just bought a 2001 Maristar 230 with an '03 x30 tower on it.  It has the '05 stock Clarion headunit in it I believe with the 4 stock Clarion interior speakers.  NOTHING ELSE.

Here are my thoughts/plans:

  • 2 Tower Speakers:  1) 2 Polk MM651UM speaker...

Mike (or anyone in the know),

Do you know what the mounting depth clearance is in the 205V hull?  Mine is a 2004 and I'm thinking of swapping for Polk Audio MMC6500.  Current ones mount directy to fiberglass and not thru the seatback vinyl (see picture).

Any help, advice, sugge...

Has anyone added sound dampening material to the inside to their MC factory tower speaker cans? I was told to coat the inside of the cans with a material like Line-X and also add some Dacron (spelling???) or poly-fill material.
