Topic is Active - No Messages general Engine and all electric just quit
We were cruising at 25MPH and the engine just quit and also all of the electric gauges and radio...nothing functioned. When we got to shore I noticed we had a large quantity of 'grass' wrapped around the prop and shaft. I removed all of the debris that may have contributed to the motor stopping.&nbs...

Topic is Active - New Messages general Transmission fluid looks like Strawberry milk
I have a 1999 Mastercraft 230 VRS Maristar with the LT-1, and 630-V Hurth transmission. I bought it last fall and changed out all the fluids with synthetics. I've been running it quite a bit this season, and everything has been great. This past weekend I noticed that the tranny wasn't engaging rever...

Topic is Active - No Messages question Throttle Cable tension
How do you go about adjusting throttle cable tension on a 1996 Maristar 200RS?  If you take hand off throttle above 2000 RPM in any remotely bumpy water, the throttle will go to idle.  Not very smooth way of cruising!...

Topic is Active - New Messages general Reverse Polarity
I pulled a bone-head move when I replaced the battery on my 95 225VRS LT1 this year.  I briefly hooked it up backwards (I know - what a dork).  There was a pop and a puff of smoke that came off somewhere near the center of the engine near the top.  I was surprised when the boat starte...

Topic is Active - New Messages general Alarm at low rpm and battery goes dead
Problem #2 - I have a 2003 MariStar 210 with low hours. At low rpm, an alarm goes off. The only way to get it to stop is to kill the engine and restart. I think it may be a low voltage alarm because after a day's use, the battery will often be dead. I always have to carry a spare battery. Is th...

Topic is Active - New Messages general '07 Ballast Addition - 200VRS
Hi Guys,

Wake surfing has turned out to be even more fun than I hoped. Now I need more ballast, and am sick of messing with the Tsunami pump.

Anyone out there added a factory-type ballast system to their Maristar? Basically, I want to add pumps for the rear bags, one pump for each side, ...

Topic is Active - New Messages question Sulfur smell when using boat
I have a 2003 MariStar 210 with low hours (less than 300). When we are using the boat and it gets up to normal operational temperatures, it develops a bad sulfur smell. It does not smell like a hot engine and the engine temperature does not get above 160 according to the temp gauge. I can open th...

Topic is Active - No Messages general Ballast issue in 2001 v-drive
I have a 2001 Maristar V-drive with the front and rear ballast system. The water valves are located under the engine are controlled by hand knobs inside the starboard side rear hatch. They are connected to the valves under the engine by pushrods, similar to what you would find on a lawnmower. One...

Topic is Active - New Messages general Winter storage of my MariStar
I recently purchased a 1999 MariStar 230VRS with a Corvette LT-1 motor. I am going to winterize the boat myself and have read NOT to use RV antifreeze, just drain the block. Is that still the prefered method of thinking? If so, should I try to blow out the block with compressed air? If so, how do I ...

Topic is Active - No Messages general 1995 Maristar Bilge Pump
My bilge pump is not operating. The current pump has a replacable cartridge pump and I have installed a new pump. The pump did not operate so I checked for power in the wires leading to the pump - there was no power. So working backwards from the pump, I suspect that the rocker switch for the bilge ...
