SERVICE BULLETIN

No. 2005.SEP01.SB-010

SUBJECT: Perfect Pass Performance Improvement

MODELS:  All 2005 models and 2006 models

     through Serial No. MBCMXCC4G506

      equipped with Perfect Pass

CONDITION:

Indications are that an electrical signal interference may occur that could interfere with proper cruise control functionality. This can occur even when the Perfect Pass system is OFF. Incorrect signals may cause an override of proper function, resulting in unexpected surging or reduction of speed. There may also be a diminished throttle response that could cause a default to idle. Often this situation can be remedied by switching the ignition key off and allowing the electrical system to recycle. However, we believe the best corrective action is to bring all affected units in for the following checks and corrections*:

All 2005 Models and  all 2006 MariStar 230s/X-30s built through July 1, 2005,

with Perfect Pass

Remove existing computer chip and replace

Check to determine if throttle override wire is attached; disconnect if it is

Attach ground wire

Recalibrate ECM (if it fails to meet the required calibration as indicated in this Bulletin)

All 2006 Models through mid-July (Serial No. MBCMXCC4G506) with Perfect Pass

Disconnect throttle override wire

Attach ground wire

NOTE: If throttle override wire has never been installed, it is not necessary to attach aground wire. This is required ONLY if the throttle override wire was installed at the factory.

Hi There I have an 05 x-star, MCX with a ZF Hurth and perfect pass 180 hours. Boat is working fine all fluids are good and gauges are normal. When operating and going into neutral the boat intermittently (more often than not) will not go back into gear, reverse or forward. It shuts of the stereo and gives a check engine on the multi - tach. Could this be my issue? Is it a factory recall?
