Can anyone confirm whether or not this recall is for real? Apparently, the rudder arm can rub against the fuel tank in certain circumstances. Please share, thanks!! http://www.totalrecallinfo.com/freerecalls.php?id=12619 July 14---Mastercraft Boat Co. recalls ProStar 214/ X14 Direct Drive BOATS Manufacturer: See Below Product: Automotive Start Date: 2009-07-14 End Date: 2009-08-14 MIC MBC NUMBER 090012T COMPANY Mastercraft Boat Co., LLC MODEL NAME ProStar 214 & X-14 YEAR PROBLEM Fuel system UNITS 546 COMMENTS The steering rudder arm and/or the bolt that attaches the components of the steering rudder arm can come intocontact with the wall of the fuel tank when the steering wheel is turned to the full position (a full-lock turn). If contact with the fuel tank wall is repeatedly made, this creates the potential to cause abrasion and could eventually wear the fuel tank wall, which could lead to a rupture or breach of the fuel tank and the obvious resulting dangers. Mastercraft ProStar 214 & X-14 direct drive boats from the beginning of production of these models through HIN MBCMTGV7B909. Note: the V-drive versions of these two models are not affected. |
