Hi there!

I own a 2008 X2 and thought I retro-fit the new surf-tabs to get a bigger wake for surfing. Two questions:

1. Can I get the tabs and do they fit to my 2008 model?

2. Is the wake substantially different since I am using only the built in ballast system and have no additional sacks?

Thanks for your insights.

Also make sure you have oil, boat will be tipped so much it will shift engine oil to one side tricking engine oil safety sensor to go off.

A good tip to help rider when they are about to lose the wake is to turn wheel quickly about a 1/4" turn in same direction you are going, this will throw a swell (quick rise)in the wake so they can catch it again, you have to go back to normal quickly after they catch it again.

Important to slow boat down ALOT when rider falls and make the opposite turn you were just making so you dont bury the nose of boat, especially if you were just making a tight turn while wakesurfing

Wakesurfing is all about the driver.

if you are looking for a serious wake ( for adults) surf tabs are useless.

To wakesurf empty all ballast except side you are surfing on.

I choose just to empty everything so its easier to switch from goofty to regular as ballast (extra 450 lbs i have in each side + factory) takes a while to empty, and you really want it empty for when you switch over, not just.... ok thats good enough.

Simply slam that side with whatever you have, coolers etc..... when ski platform on that side is about a foot + underwater you are good.

Do not weight the bow at all.

no more that 12.5-13 mph.

Driver side ( goofy) will always be a better wake.

I am getting tabs (12"x12") from Mastercraft installed in my 07, should fit your 08 too.
